Sea Scouts of Long Beach

Ship Shape

Imagine spending four days battling the ocean and the elements while sailing up the coast of California. That’s what the Sea Scouts of Troop #564, Long Beach, did when they sailed to Santa Cruz onboard the SSS Emma E. The Emma. E was donated to the Sea Scouts by the Stanley W. Ekstrom Foundation. Stanley Ekstrom was an avid sailor and loved the ocean. He would be proud to think that the ship named after his mother, Margaret Emma Ekstrom, was being used to advance the goals of an organization like the Sea Scouts.
